hello, have installed ubuntu thru wubi week ago , impressed of improvements since last time have installed it. format , repartition drive make proper installation of it. re-install win 7 of games till supported in distro (having issues asheron's call). so, have seen lost thread here saying dual boot, 2 drive installation, should, on drive #1, put 50% win, 48% linux , 2% /swap, on second drive, partition files both os can access, 2% swap ( have linux advantage of swap on different drives) dont remember rest. have 2 x 320 gb drives, on notebook, intel centrino duo quad core 2.0ghz, 4 gb ddr3, , nvidia gtx260m 1gb ddr3. question is, scheme seems ok , missing ? can onlocation used review stored video?  scopes work?  idea transfer video, check video scopes color level.  because camcorder not have firewire. if clips in supported format, yes. cs5, supported formats include dv , dvcpro in avi & qt file formats dvcpro straight off p2 card in mxf format, hdv in m2t wrapper, avchd , xdcam ex.   in addition reviewing clips benefit of ol's scopes, can have app analyze clips audio , video alerts. this, either enable "generate alerts , audio peaks imported clips" option (edit > preference > file handling) prior importing clips, or import clips first , right-click clips , select "generate alerts , audio peaks." my home server has 2 sata drives, drive 1(750gb) , drive 2 (1tb). drive 1 has bootable os partition (20gb), swap partition (2gb). rest of disk 1 plus of drive 2 arranged single striped logical volume using lvm2, onto /home installed. under 9.10 32bit worked fine, webmin reported /home of ~1.6tb ran upgrade 10.04 32bit 9.10 32bit - went horribly wrong, can't boot, can't see eth0. booting off cd still sees relevant partitions, because not obvious root cause is, , have limited time on weekend, it's easier clean install os partition of 10.04, , restore various config files server applications, rather spend time looking fixes on interwebs, low chance of success. data has been backed up. question: given i'm clean installing, may upgrade 64bit. if so, there related 64 bit os using lvm2 volume created 32 bit os? i'm aware i'll have fiddle lvm2 volume anyway, , may not work, i'm checking i'm no worse off 64- rather 32-bit clean

when upgraded 10.04 boot splash looked crap, graphics garbled, best way can describe it. reinstalled 10.04 , had same problem. posted prob , suggested trying "start-up manager". did , got worse. graphics miniature across top, looks they 1-3 pixels high repeating across top. have ignored last 3 or months, annoying , fix it, ideas? brad bump-there kind of problem last night posts weren't showing,the newest posts 3 hrs old. bring front page. i got atlanta yesterday after week @ fountainebleau hotel in miami florida.  owner of company work for, designed staging environment based on ballroom space available , budget of course.  ballroom has low ceilings went rows of 4 projection screens side side accomodate around 2300 people. our client sold on video elements moving freely across 4 screens.  presents video editing challenge.  fortunately cs5 arrived on time prepare videos show.  couldn't have cs4.  designed , tested workflow got job done ahead of event .  process though!  here suggestions , observations professionals type of thing regularly:   observations: we had great camera man on trip used panasonic hvx200p  , canon 7d.  uses mac , final cut pro guy.  gave me folder full of around 70 p2 files imported premiere cs5 bin.  stood in disbelief watching how fast these files became ready edit compared high-end mac using final cut pro.   animations span 4 screens shot on canon 7d camera.  jpegs brought after effects beautif
