Flashing monitor in CS5
hello,
i need help. using photoshop cs5 design premium. os 10.6.4. these specs mac pro.
model identifier: macpro3,1
processor name: quad-core intel xeon
processor speed: 3.2 ghz
number of processors: 2
total number of cores: 8
l2 cache (per processor): 12 mb
memory: 16 gb
bus speed: 1.6 ghz
boot rom version: mp31.006c.b05
smc version (system): 1.25f4
hardware uuid: 0613acb3-fecf-5ae8-9cba-353b667e52a0
the video card nvidia geforce 8800 gt
the monitor 30 inch cinema display.
i having strange issue in photoshop. after few hours of using photoshop cs5 monitor starts flashing greyscale pattern on entire monitor. pattern banded pattern starts @ light grey @ top of monitor , goes toward black @ bottom. semi-transparent , can see through file , desktop beneath pattern. pattern pulsates fast , kind of hypnotic. pattern not go away , i dreaded spinning beach ball , there no way escape without manually shutting down computer can't force quit photoshop or move out of photoshop. other times when double click on psd file open in photoshop, file appears scrambled , can see palettes inside of jumbled up, doesn't happen , more flashing gradient pattern goes black white described earlier. problem occurs on different files , not confined 1 user. can start asking photoshop simplest thing duplicate file or create new document.
these steps have taken far:
i have had apple replace video card problem still reoccurs. have uninstalled , reinstalled cs5 , did not solve issue. have run extended hardware test computer passed. have installed update photoshop came out last week.
i think called 12.0.1.
the technician replaced video card mentioned adobe still uses older technology scrambles files on computer. wondering if causing problem.
what can do? desperate. adobe not acknowledge problem when call or blames on faulty video card. problem occurs when run adobe cs5. did not occur in cs3 owned before upgrading.
please help. thanks.
this being discussed in apple 10.6 forum, appears apple bug (sigh)...one user posted youtube video (cry, cry, cry lost time)...
