Thread: Power saving for headless server

hello dear forum.

i'm looking documentation reduce power consumption of headless server. after couple of google researches, did not find satisfying doc. help.ubuntu.com site not give advice.

server provides basic services, smtp, smb, apache, upnp, ssh, ftp ... nice if server switch (very) low power consumption state, , go normal if required. imagine adjust settings according workload.

helpfull if indicate pages, blogs, feedback, package name, job.

thank in advance.

well that's tricky. found recent thread on having server sleep & wake automatically - http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1335400

however, doesn't seem want. 'low power' stuff handled processor , motherboard think, assuming server supports processor scaling system should automatically, on-the-fly...

correct me if i'm missing there, isn't you're looking for?
