i know isn't glamorous problem, appreciate help, i'm out of depth, otherwise. have samsung ml-4500 parallel printer connected usb port on laptop. under karmic printer wasn't automatically recognised, got work setting "other" printer uri of parallel:/dev/usblp0, using "printing" interface. on upgrading lucid, printer stopped working, came when deleted , re-added printer. however, today there system upgrade, , printer no longer works, after deleting , re-added. think might have this bug , doesn't it's going fixed time soon. it's decent printer, i'm reluctant throw out. lsusb doesn't see printer. printer 'state' not connected. i've tried in different usb ports, , tried rebooting computer , printer (that's level!). can me troubleshoot this? tia. http://www.openprinting.org/printer/...amsung-ml-4500 F

i'm having trouble displaying menu in template. i'm using : <jdoc:include type="modules" name="top" style="xhtml" /> in index.php of template. , have "main menu" module enabled, position set top , main menu selected in menu name. main menu has items. nothing displayed in site. no error messages or anything. what preventing displaying? whats way debug things in joomla? switched on system debug shows what work around this? ie, there easier way display menu? i tried this: <jdoc:include type="module" name="main menu" /> but nothing showing there either. thanks help. iv'e tried putting other modules in "top" position, , display. step 1, module not templating / position code or whatever. hello   i've made composition in photoshop , imported ae. among other layers, had "brightness , contrast" adjustment layer. since photoshop cs4 (i think), brightness , contrast has changed, , instead of uniformly adjusting brightness of each pixel, looks @ whole image , tries move brightness of pixels in more considerate , smart way (i think). anyway different.   thing is, in ae, "brightness , contrast" effect stayed same, when importing composition adjustment layers, image looked (disasterously) different.   in photoshop i've noticed checkbox "use legacy". when checked, made adjustment layer same thing did in ae (which came out horrible). tried work on hour produce effect remotely similar 1 had without legacy, , gave up.   so, is there way - hidden options, combinations of several adjustment layers, third party plugins - anything, in ae, reproduce new photoshop way of controlling brightness , contrast?   thanks, michael   photoshop , ae both cs5,

so, using quad core dell windows 7 , cs4 encore.  first issue having whole system freezing (locking up) when tried import cd quality wav file 66mb big.  tried multiple files , new projects , locks immediately, doesn't import bit.  converted mp3 , imported fine.  cut file down 33mb wav file cutting file down 3 minutes because wanted , file imported fine.  because of size original not import?   second problem having no matter use, mp3 or smaller wav file, when preview build audio plays on menu menu animation , plays way through loop.  when build project onto disc, however, music disappears.  on disc know not playing on menu when placed several other computers , played in dvd player programs.  have project out unfortunately going out without music know might going on?  looked @ other threads similar fixes did not seem work (ie: mp3's don't work go 48khz pcm wav file).  tried rebuilding of parts of dvd see if error in transcoding nothing seemed work.  why encore buggy adobe?

i've installed joomla localhost, , going through quick start guide. getting through alright until came menus. when create menu items, don't appear anywhere. must created @ level because when @ menu manager, lists there number published, in menu item manager , on front end, there's nothing. i started snooping around forums, , stumbled across fact php 5.3 doesn't quite work joomla! yet, installed php 5.2.9-2. if select php 5.2.9-2, site doesn't work @ all, , if use php 5.3, still have menu issue. any suggestions on how straightened out? thanks help. first thing ask is... how did setup site on localhost, did use xampp or server? use xampp php 5.2.9 , works... may need complete reinstall , try once more make sure start off php 5.2.9. i wouldn't use standalone php, apache, etc on computer...best use server setup xampp how build sites. pozdrav duze vremena nisam pipnuo jooml-u, jedno 20ak puta sam je instalirao na svojim kucnim serverima (openbsd gentoo) tada je instalacije proticala super ;-), danas sam trebao da instaliram joomlu 1.5 na eunet-ov hosting, uglavnom, krene instalacije, kod 3. ili 4. koraka, tj kada se unose podaci o bazi podataka, username, ostalo, nedozvoljava da se klikne next dugme, popuni sam sva vidljiva polja, opet nece ;-(, da li neko zna gde je problem unapred zahvalan sad cu morati da zvuchim kao idiot ali otkud znam, mozhda ti pomognem shto bih naravno volio...meni se isto deshavalo kod koraka o bazi podataka...jednostavno sam zaboravio da kucam root u polje user name...pogledaj opet jesi li precizno kucao sva polja Board index Joomla!
