hello, , taking time read question - 1 in , endless query... joomla suit needs?
beyond needing framework corporate site, have few specific needs. company focus creating media content. videos, flash, etc... our main website needs function of looking nice, having our production information, , demos of our work.
once past that, have client area. clients grouped company , can participate in production reporting system. hoping mimic basic functionality of basecamphq.com our own design. when job moves production final release, want project management page turn project resource page - filled downloads of various file formats our clients requested.
further, , gets more complicated, system offer syndication service our clients. basic idea here our projects - video, flash, silverlight, etc... - can placed in our client's websites or partner websites using javascript link. basically, [youtube] style. when our job done, can copy/paste link website , , going.
which leads me reporting - want report our own access, on lines of syndication want tell our clients how , media has been accessed. handy in case give links business partners. figure set server side relay information google analytics account client , work out nice custom reports them. maybe there stuff in drupal better - or developed hooks popular reporting/analysis services.
oh yea, in client area - need able upload assets use in our productions. figure has got easy aspect of cms. ideally, should have 1 of new slick java apps let drag , drop files desktop , go right client library. better if can access library syndicated media. if flash media knows public folder provide documents when syndicated.
so there go. in right place or should build thing other tools out there. many choices, have feeling starting cms trick. lot of people seem drupal better lots of custom work, joomla far easier implement. figure asking experts best idea though.
i love feedback , pointers off-the-shelf modules make these tasks easier.
