Thread: Queuing utility for Ubuntu/Linux/Unix


is familiar command line utility read stdin continuously , spew out number of seconds later?

example:

cat file | quefer -t 2 | lastfunct

cats file, pipes quefer utility upon 2 seconds later re-piped program lastfunct.

of course written, *nix has kinds of handy utilities command line.

ideas , info! peace!

hmmmm ... sounds i've programming do!

no replies ... that's okay ... reason why asking buffer stuff vlc video didn't stall when streaming server might bit slow occasionally.

turns out piping bunch of cats , vlc "-" option pick stream stdin works. works fast machines. older machines solution makes things worse these cats eat lots of cycles buffering.

vlc caching policy settings have never worked me in case.

solution ... make sure files local ... , on fast machine can!
