Travel narrative photo blogs

i returned 2 week trip france, replete on 1000 photos. use lr3, if possible, create narrative of trip replete selected photos. don't see website portion of lr3 being task of combining narrative photos. thus, wonder if there third party plugins offer capability? ideally, integrate maps well, perhaps using map trace route of trip.

is there web location collects third party website packages?

thanks in advance help,

+1 me, john.  i've been looking long time , haven't found far.

i'm sure other forum users isn't lr's job , would  agree... extent.  anyway, i'll answer @ least few of auxiliary questions , offer alternative points ponder.

easy solution:  switch aperture.

example:  http://www.apple.com/aperture/action/richardson/

yes, may need add-ons things way want, aperture has many more integrated features make travel blog (and other things, photo books) reality. (aperture mac only, unfortunately.)  don't want ignite religious war regarding lr vs. ap, 1 area think aperture shines.

difficult solution:  roll own lightroom... , blogging software of choice.

some people recommend pixelpost, wasn't impressed. having gone through photo blog building process myself, can it's ton of work without show it.  here few of steps you'll need take, @ minimum, make travel photo blog lr:

  1. go "lightroom exchange" search plug-ins:  http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?event=producthome&exc=25 (you can here hitting 'plug-in exchange...' button @ bottom left of lr's plug-in manager window.)
  2. search "travel blog," "travel," , like... 0 results.  try not depressed.
  3. search "geoencoding," download jeffrey friedl's geoencoding plug-in.  unfortunately, tool "broken" lr3 (see first user comment), @ least gives basic gps encoding. [of course, aperture has feature , lets import gps info iphone if take shot in same location... neat!]
  4. back in lr, make sure of photos have captions, copyright info in exif/iptc data, , (optionally) watermarks.  export photos, upload them blog. alternatively, if *do* choose pixelpost, can use lr plug-in post photos:  http://www.pixelpost.org/extend/addons/adobe-photoshop-lightroom-export-plugin/.
  5. edit blog (outside of lr, of course).

hth!... , please let me know if *you* find anything!
