bonjour,
the terms self-explanatory static width that: width of "page" static, doesn't change, fixed. referred fixed-width templates. dynamic opposite: width of page changes "dynamically" size of browser window and/or width of screen it's being viewed upon. referred fluid templates or fluid layouts. it's matter of personal taste (for me anyway) , degree, type of content being displayed. text content lends better dynamic template text reflows when browser re-sized. well, if not fluid templates have minimum width value no go smaller than.
cheers!
