Speeding Up Spot Removal Tool (Maybe)

i have been looking "fix" loss in use of spot removal tool due sluggishness in lr3.  stumbled across following , wondered if multiple hard drive can confirm fix or if lr3 catalog allowing speedy spot removal , slow down in future.  anyway, here did:

 

1.     had 1 hard drive array os, 1 cache , catalog/previews , third array images (dng).  resulting in spot removal tool locking computer around 10 seconds each action.  not acceptable.  there no lag @ in lr2.

 

2.     moved catalog/previews on os hard drive , spot removal tool makes changes in less 1 second, may times instantaneously.  had done test in lr2 , had absolutely no impact on speed (that notice anyway, in lr2 instantaneous on machine) left catalog/previews cache.

 

can 3 or more hard drives confirm if cache, catalog/previews , images separated on 3 drives may revive use of spot removal tool???  great news!

i have 3 drives i'm not technically savvy enough answer question in full. can contribute experience problem.

 

when first used lr3beta, spot removal seemed ok re speed. (in fact whole catalog, small was, seemed great speed wise. celebrated importing next big project, around 2000 shots. oh dear, big mistake...).

 

  1. i had lr catalog, cache , dngs on main drive (with o/s , s/w); spot removal painfully slow.
  2. moved catalog & dngs second drive seperate s/w  , o/s; stayed slow.
  3. moved catalog main drive o/s, s/w & cache , s/w, left dngs on 2nd drive. it's marginally better, perhaps... still unacceptably slow had revert photoshop this.

 

i don't know answer, know there big problem tool , should not user have experiment moving parts of system here , there resolve it. come on adobe!

cf_sql_integer vs cf_sql_bigint vs cf_sql_int??

i have id (primary key) set bigint in sql server. have query following: where whateverid = <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="cf_sql_integer" value="#url.id#"> i got invalid data type it. tried: where whateverid = <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="cf_sql_bigint" value="#url.id#"> i still got invalid data type it. tried: where whateverid = <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="cf_sql_int" value="#url.id#"> and worked. the weird thing cf_sql_int not listed being accepted: http://www.adobe.com/livedocs/coldfusion/5.0/cfml_reference/tags79.htm can explain me. > whateverid = <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="cf_sql_bigint" value="#url.id#"> what value of #url.id#? had no problems either using cf8. > weird thing cf_sql_int not listed being accepted: iirc, when pass in invalid sql type cf uses default: cf_sql_char, accepts anything. ms sql implicit convert() right type , why works.
