Thread: Sharing a public connection
so moved, , our laptop can pick free public wifi signal in 1 spot in our house. wondering if it's possible, , if so, how, use laptop receive signal, , have wired connection router can broadcast signal, other computers/devices can use it. i've been using ubuntu , various other distros while now, never out of ordinary. thanks! edit: installed firestarter internet connection sharing aspect of it, that's not working either. can see, eth2 wireless connection. eth0 ethernet port. when try enable firewall, says "failed start firewall. device eth0 not ready. please check network device settings , make sure internet connection active. ubuntu comes shipped ability share internet. not need firestarter. in fact, should uninstall , use default ufw instead. there gui ufw under system > administration > firewall configuration. if it's not installed, gufw in synaptic. then, should able conf...
