is possible use livecycle data services backend without flex/flash front end ( other tech front end struts, jsp, jsf etc).

idea advantage of features provided data services other flash player front end?

you can use amfconnection in blazeds make remoting calls java blazeds/lcds. load testing tool in lcds (lives under resources/load-testing-tool) has java apis producer, consumer, channelset, remoteobject etc. can use well, although it's not full java api (not 100% complete actionscript api) yet.
