Admin password repeatedly does not work - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hey, having horrible problem, makes me think hacked. password working fine, wasn't. 1 registered on site, , couldn't in used "forgot password" button , got in , change password. every time person logged in, password etc became no good. asked user not sign in until fixed problem , removed user login, , unfortunately "forgot password" it, front page when knew or thought password working, , today, not working again! not sure can phpmysql version of getting password. there other options? has site been hacked? because need control other levels of administration , users better, provided in. ironically, going work on today!

i using mac g4, 10.4.2. foxfire 2.0.0.16. else need know?
