joomlacomment doesn't work after moving site to remote host - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

i moved site localhost remote server. works :o - except joomlacomment. when click on menu go "leave comment" section of site white screen says:

>>> !joomlacomment template not found: mydefault <<<<

the template indeed on remote site.

any ideas?

news flash!!! found more clues:

deep within component !joomlacomment (on remote server) under "content settings/layout" found in red letters -

your customized template:
location:/www/domainname.com/web/domainname/domainname/media not writable

as compared same place on localhost says -

your customized template:
location:c:\program files\xampp\htdocs\domainname\media\myjosctemplates writable

right next red letter message on remote host says "html use standard" compared local host says "html mydefault" , under "css".

i tried make changes wouldn't let me.

i guess means need somehow either make contents of directory "myjosctemplates" writeable, or rewrite them using text editor, or ???

any advice?

hi, i'm starting , address http://localhost/joomla15/administrator doesn't work (it stays blank, no error or anything). wonder if have change in address or somewhere else. joomla installed through web-host dreamhost.com , didn't have much. i appreciate help. silvia http://localhost tells browser not go out internet use localized web server installed on pc. lack of better description, localized web server doing coding , test site development on local pc using software turns pc "local" web server; hence, term - localhost. you mentioned dreamhost.com installing joomla. assume mean installed joomla on hosting account? so need access joomla installation by: http://www.yourdomain.com/joomla15/administrator Board index Joomla!
