Thread: Enter password to unlock your login keyring

the password use log in computer no longer matches of login keyring.

understand , manage whatever keyring about.

i've been using (for weeks now) pc, @ first has old ubuntu installation on , else has configured in order user (that configured , used simple password) had needed rights administrate it. (on same week), thought convenient format , reinstall newer ubuntu. during installation, got user's configurations.
now, suddenly, started messages , have insert first password other person have chosen me, keyring password.

i've had kind of problems other times (at home, in other pcs...), , never found find keyring thing , does.

i've passed phase of getting annoyed it, understand , make proper use of it.
how manage it?
how can change keyring password match login password? (as believe how doesn't disturb when isn't needed)

thanks!

the keyring used store passwords, encryption keys , stuff programs. idea keep them in 1 place, , automatically encrypt them when re not logged in make sure nobody can passwords if able read contents of computer.

if keyring password , login password set same, keyring unlocked automatically when log in. if password different, or use automatic login, need give keyring password when program tries unlock keyring. happens when log in, when network manager tries key wireless network keyring.

change keyring password can go applications/accessories/passwords , encryption keys. right-click "passwords:login"-keyring , select "change password".

edit: if use automatic login, , don't want type in keyring password, can leave fields new password empty. store keys in unencrypted format, losing of security, if use automatic login don't worry security anyway. otherwise set keyring password same login password.
