Thread: Okay, It's A Bug. Satisfied?

somebody ever make bug reporting straight forward, , might give shot. now, forget it.

knoq bug known if don't intend fix it? "design feature". think first heard phrase microsoft product. vista sure had lot of design features incorporated it, didn't it?

anyway, point, evident design feature has to ubuntu 10.04 lts. have have special mind run it. how found it.

i'm engaged in doing multiple installs of ubuntu on laptop. unwanted things happen if installer makes decisions, go manual mode included partitioner try , done way.

installer's partitioner not write al label, want one. since gparted appears under /system/preferences, decide go test mode , use instead. , found the.. whatever want call it.

using gparted first, can include partiton label, want. after failed efforts @ install (i doing soe tings differently suggested metho), method uses gparted reformat, label partition. invariably reformat ext3 ends gparted telling me partition has unknown type file system on it. apparently screwed own reformat effort. telling second reformat, come , show me ext3 file system on it. , can apply label.

gparted not appear bet same partitioner instaqller calls up. if 1 messes on reformat. 1 installer calls on? not check reformat or tell me anyrhing before beginning install process.

gparted set in 10.04 lts has formatting problem, , yet unclear if installer's partitioner running same problem or not.

anyway, it's it.

in scenario complicated, might have better luck using command-line tools browbeat disk looking want, before starting installer. e.g. run fdisk , mke2fs exact options want.
