Offering to download a file (PDF) autogenerated in a View - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hello!

i'm aware perhaps more of php related question (sorry, i'm new on this), hoping perhaps find here.

i'm developing component , added new view offering information database in pdf file that's generated php.

the problem have pdf stored in buffer while it's being generated , intended displaying "echo" buffer , add header treated pdf browser.

this works fine if in external php file dummy content doesn't use joomla tables.
however, when i'm doing inside joomla (in view), content display processed joomla , result html file pdf content displayed inside text. also, eating lot of memory consequence of processing, guess.

is there way can display content of buffer variable view in autogenerated separate download?

are trying write file pdf? why not use built in mechanisms in joomla?

cf_sql_integer vs cf_sql_bigint vs cf_sql_int??

i have id (primary key) set bigint in sql server. have query following: where whateverid = <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="cf_sql_integer" value="#url.id#"> i got invalid data type it. tried: where whateverid = <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="cf_sql_bigint" value="#url.id#"> i still got invalid data type it. tried: where whateverid = <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="cf_sql_int" value="#url.id#"> and worked. the weird thing cf_sql_int not listed being accepted: http://www.adobe.com/livedocs/coldfusion/5.0/cfml_reference/tags79.htm can explain me. > whateverid = <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="cf_sql_bigint" value="#url.id#"> what value of #url.id#? had no problems either using cf8. > weird thing cf_sql_int not listed being accepted: iirc, when pass in invalid sql type cf uses default: cf_sql_char, accepts anything. ms sql implicit convert() right type , why works.
