Thread: What is the best way to get some more space?

ok, have started run out of comfortable space needs (i lot of vm work) , have taken space out of windows partition (which hope blowing out within christmas). want carry stuff on ubuntu thinking of formatting unallocated space ntfs / fat32. have things on 3 gbs thinking ntfs (because of restrictions on fat32), ubuntu can't write ntfs real well. expanding ubuntu partition take space, need space both ubuntu , windows can look, , use. have posted screenshot of gparted layout current.

thanks!

if you've never run command, been using install while, working fine on install, , confident continue have broadband internet, ought free space:

sudo apt-get clean

deletes stuff in /var/cache/apt/archives - stuff needed if have slow internet connection and if update ever breaks something.

nice if there windows driver supported ext4 filesystem. solve of problems immediately. unfortunately, support ext3 available @ present.

actually, could make shared partition ext2 or 3. or maybe fat32. ubuntu , windows both have perfect fat32 support.
