PROBLEM SOLVED--CS5 WIN7 X64 INSTALL ERROR DEPENDENCY FAILURE

problem solved!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

i spent 9  hours straight on this, stronger "its". have  both cs4 , cs5, work if have cs5 as  well. did not try runnning cs5 installer first after implementing  fix, maybe work too..and when getting cs5 error, i  went re-install cs4 got error why took  steps did. on 7x64 followin

 

first  run cs5 cleanup tool , reboot.

 

second,  go c:\program file(x86)\common files\adobe\installers . delete  in it

 

then go registry  (start, run, type regedit) , expand registry key:  hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\installer\userdata\s-1-5-18\ components  ...(if isnt there, try install again, go folder  deleted files moment ago , extract log from  zip file , open , go end. says error 1402  followed unknown\components\(a bunch of numebers right  here)\(more numbers)  ...

 

copy numbers  directly after components\ , go registry , click edit  "find" paste numbers box , hit find..when get  key, scroll way components again. right click  components , hit permissions.. go advanced , ownership  tab top.. click edit, hightlight administrator(s), check box to  "replace subcontainers" , click apply. respond yes and  close , hit apply again if asked. click add button above  advanced button clicked. when new box appears, click  advanced , click find now. highlight administrators , system  , hit ok. give both of them full rights , hit apply. click  advanced again , in first window check box says "replace  child objects...." , hit apply. accept prompts , hit okay.

 

now  go c:\windows , on system32 folder, right click , go to  properties. go security tab. click advanced , "owner" and  click edit. highlght administrators , check box "replace child  object....." again , hit apply....

 

now give  administrators, system, , trustedinstaller full rights clicking  edit above advanced tab in first properties box.. click  advanced again , in first window click replace child  object....." again , hit apply....

 

 

now  same winsxs folder , (for measure did syswow64  not sure if necessary)...

 

now should  able install both versions..(as said, installed cs4 first,  maybe not necessary)...

 

if dont  idea of blindly giving administrators full rights all  system folders, can spend many many hours running installs over  , on , getting faulty registry value caused fail  , create specific permissions , go on next  value fails......what pain

i have been trying install cs5 mc weeks. first got install except after effects , premiere pro. trying follow suggestions on forum wound not being able install part of @ all. now..

 

well...following kind suggestions letter have been able install everything...except affter effects , premiere pro. sigh.

 

at least can work on doesn't require ae , ppro.  still need them installed , working.
