i hate post this, because i'm sure i'm missing simple, i'm @ top of frustration level.   i'm doing course catalog i'd assign different paragraph style each line each course featured: i.e., course gets own para style, return, date gets own style, return, course descrip gets own style, return ... it.   so in each para style, assign next style appropriate next entry. based on "no paragraph" each.   then highlight copy (course return, date return, course descrip return, etc.) , apply first style, course, expecting cascading para styles ... , take rest of day off.   but,voila, of copy in course style. it's next style instructions in paragraph style dialog box empty. don't i'm doing wrong. i'm sure it's simple. appreciated! been there, done that, beat head against wall... i think i've made work copying text new frame...doesn't work if you've copy (go figure). have first style selected when flow copy. peter or bob have best answe

hello, when laptop (asus x83vm) first boots , lucid (10.04) loads, top panel on right hand side power button, date, user name, volume control, mail icon, battery level, etc, 'garbly-gook.' 'garbly-gook' mean icons over-lapping , missing. if move panel different location (right or left, not bottom), panel seems reset , no longer garbly-gook. have ideas? does this?
