How to show loading screen when the large data is fetched from database

hi guyz,

 

i have air application wherein have search screen. when user hits search button, database call being triggered , sql result being displayed in datagrid.

 

however, data retrieval process takes time , screen hangs out. looking solution can display loading image, , not make screen hang out, user can @ least make out happening in background.

 

i tried use titlewindow , placed loading image on there. popup never appears on screen.

 

looking ahead discussion/solution.

i added debugging info see part of process time consuming. found query execution taking 20 sec. converting data (~12000 records) array , setting dataprovider datagrid taking ~2 mins.

 

is there better way create dataprovider datagrid other converting array??

cf_sql_integer vs cf_sql_bigint vs cf_sql_int??

i have id (primary key) set bigint in sql server. have query following: where whateverid = <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="cf_sql_integer" value="#url.id#"> i got invalid data type it. tried: where whateverid = <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="cf_sql_bigint" value="#url.id#"> i still got invalid data type it. tried: where whateverid = <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="cf_sql_int" value="#url.id#"> and worked. the weird thing cf_sql_int not listed being accepted: http://www.adobe.com/livedocs/coldfusion/5.0/cfml_reference/tags79.htm can explain me. > whateverid = <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="cf_sql_bigint" value="#url.id#"> what value of #url.id#? had no problems either using cf8. > weird thing cf_sql_int not listed being accepted: iirc, when pass in invalid sql type cf uses default: cf_sql_char, accepts anything. ms sql implicit convert() right type , why works.
