Help with SEO settings - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support
hi,
i'm new joomla user please forgive me if simple.
when check yes "search engine friendly url's" in global configuration panel, site seems loose it's css info. text html looking site. when uncheck "search engine frindly url's" site returns normal.
also, when check "search engine friendly url's" nothing changes in url's, remain long , messy. i'm right in supposing setting should have been checked before pages created? should delete pages , start again option checked?
thanks in advance on one!

hang in there, it'll work out!
don't delete pages. there several issues need aware of -
1. browser may caching (showing previous view of pages). hold ctrl key while refreshing try , fresh view.
2. server may caching pages. check joomla global configuration cache settings , turn them off now. go admin menu options , delete cache items.
3. if checked second sef radio button, need make sure have proper .htaccess file in root folder. (assuming you're not on windows server).
now, set, should go, if not - click on documentation tab @ page top , see dox have say. (i never read until i'm in real trouble!)
