Shared Review: Acrobat Pro 9; Reader 8 issues
hi,
i've been experimenting shared review features on acrobat 9 pro, , we've run odd behaivour.
i created pdf file, sent shared review, , waited comments.
all 3 reviewers started reader 8, received link, , opened file enough. each received warning telling them needed reader 9 or higher comment on document, document opened, displayed commenting tools , "publish comment/check new comments" buttons.
naturally enough, began commenting away anyway, assuming ok, , published comments server.
i went online check new comments, , found none.
we went round , upgraded reader 9, assuming that issue. once upgrade had installed, opened previous pdf files (with quite few comments on) , connected server.
at point, previous comments deleted, rather being transferred server! quite worrying - surely if behaviour occur (all comments deleted on upgrade), user should not allowed comment @ before upgrading. there workaround? comments still found on old copy of document, , merely hidden?
i'd worried that, send out document review group of less technically-minded reviewers, end situation we'd lose days of work due them assuming away old version, buttons seemed there.
anyone else had problem, or suggestions of ways work around it?
thanks in advance,
dave
did use internal server comments? or acrobat.com?
if acrobat.com, reviewers need version 9.x
for reviews not using acrobat.com, version 8.x , later can used.
how did check comments on server?
indeed if comments had not been synchronized server , comments can indeed have been removed local installation.
