installed great last wk, this wk fresh install doesn't work - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

i @ wit's end here.

last week installed joomla play around , learn it. installation went off without hitch , messed around , did things break (on purpose) , fix see , not capable of , learn various things do.

today deleted of installation files, including ftp account created database , database user. complete cleaned out server using.

i went reinstall , xml error (error: xml resposne returned server invalid). not autofind root path , not check ftp settings. skip , move next part wants sample data. same error.

remember, did not have errors last time @ all. decide there must problem upload, clear server , again. same thing. clear server , reupload , try different browser, same thing. downloaded new package incase somehow files had on computer had been corrupted (the newest stable release of 1.5) , chmod entire directory , files 777 because, god @ point i'll try anything.... error again. last desperate attempt deleted , reloaded , emailed info friend works @ isp , asked him try install me incase computer.

i have searched forum , saw suggestions skip ftp part or reupload files. if there solution, missed don't hard on me...i've been trying install joomla 5 hours , don't know else try. i'm getting angry honest have spent entire workday wasting time on this...this time can not bill , i'm going have work night catch up. don't understand why worked before , not.

does have other suggestions other starting installation fresh, downloading new copy, or skipping ftp part? need installed.

when xml error, it's because clicked yes ftp layer, did not give correct ftp information. can either choose no , leave ftp fields blank, in case php handle uploads, or click yes , provide correct information.

cf_sql_integer vs cf_sql_bigint vs cf_sql_int??

i have id (primary key) set bigint in sql server. have query following: where whateverid = <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="cf_sql_integer" value="#url.id#"> i got invalid data type it. tried: where whateverid = <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="cf_sql_bigint" value="#url.id#"> i still got invalid data type it. tried: where whateverid = <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="cf_sql_int" value="#url.id#"> and worked. the weird thing cf_sql_int not listed being accepted: http://www.adobe.com/livedocs/coldfusion/5.0/cfml_reference/tags79.htm can explain me. > whateverid = <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="cf_sql_bigint" value="#url.id#"> what value of #url.id#? had no problems either using cf8. > weird thing cf_sql_int not listed being accepted: iirc, when pass in invalid sql type cf uses default: cf_sql_char, accepts anything. ms sql implicit convert() right type , why works. hi, i'm starting , address http://localhost/joomla15/administrator doesn't work (it stays blank, no error or anything). wonder if have change in address or somewhere else. joomla installed through web-host dreamhost.com , didn't have much. i appreciate help. silvia http://localhost tells browser not go out internet use localized web server installed on pc. lack of better description, localized web server doing coding , test site development on local pc using software turns pc "local" web server; hence, term - localhost. you mentioned dreamhost.com installing joomla. assume mean installed joomla on hosting account? so need access joomla installation by: http://www.yourdomain.com/joomla15/administrator Board index Joomla!
