Changing the articles on the front page when a user logs in - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support
i'm brand new joomla please forgive terminology errors.
i have joomla website want different once user logs in. here want , don't know how do:
1. i'm posting articles won't change until user logs in. when people submit new articles, still want original articles stay on home page. have done making articles uncategorized , posted them using front page manager.
2. once user logs in, want 2 things change:
2.1 want go ahead , put recent articles on home page
2.2 want change main menu
how this?
on site, have installed community builder , have several other modules. that's it. can help?

well, issue joomla! computer software has permissions hiearchy, meaning default "everyone" sees "everything".
and pretty cool since can restrict access content (section, category or article) or menu item setting access "registered" , further restrict setting "special"
but you're saying want "public" , "registered" mutually exclusive... is, if come website guest, or haven't logged in, have set of menus , content want me see, log in, want "exclude" me seeing stuff guest sees.
so see, not way "core joomla" works.
if want have custom user groups "peers", is, access "mutually exclusive" possible achieve using juga (available through extensions area) require climb learning curve.
perhaps, though, better if experiment changes can make site using joomla's core access setup. maybe you'll find that approach adequate want.
