Thread: x11vnc before X (And yes, I searched!)

i have machine not have physical access to. running ubuntu 10.04. access via ssh , have had no problems time. however, recent need access via vnc has come , unable working. reference, tightvnc works expected not allow me functionality need. need x11vnc working.

first thing did of course google solution , closest thing find seems out of date. if me following apprecaited.

first problem encounter: must edit file /etc/gdm/gdm.conf-custom not disconnect me after logging in. far can tell file not exist. (another site suggested /etc/gdm/custom.conf can't find file looks remotely in directory )

next problem occurs when attempt use suggested -auth /var/lib/gdm/:0.xauth switch. invalid. tried suggested switches -auth /var/gdm/:0.xauth , -auth /var/lib/gdm/:0.xauth no avail. took x11vnc's suggestion , ps wwwwaux | grep auth not find promising.

under sudo of course.

please gentle, i'm still relatively new remote access on ubuntu.

edit: -auth guess not work either.

is x server and/or gdm running on machine?

cf_sql_integer vs cf_sql_bigint vs cf_sql_int??

i have id (primary key) set bigint in sql server. have query following: where whateverid = <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="cf_sql_integer" value="#url.id#"> i got invalid data type it. tried: where whateverid = <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="cf_sql_bigint" value="#url.id#"> i still got invalid data type it. tried: where whateverid = <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="cf_sql_int" value="#url.id#"> and worked. the weird thing cf_sql_int not listed being accepted: http://www.adobe.com/livedocs/coldfusion/5.0/cfml_reference/tags79.htm can explain me. > whateverid = <cfqueryparam cfsqltype="cf_sql_bigint" value="#url.id#"> what value of #url.id#? had no problems either using cf8. > weird thing cf_sql_int not listed being accepted: iirc, when pass in invalid sql type cf uses default: cf_sql_char, accepts anything. ms sql implicit convert() right type , why works.
