Thread: 10.04 AMD-64 Boot Time - 10 minutes
my question simple, have amd64 (gigabyte board, 8 gigs ram) , have ubuntu x64 bit installed,
running fine, until 3 or 4 weeks ago, in 1 of updates, boot time, went 20 or 30 seconds 10 minutes.
it's system in "permanent" forced file-system checks every boot, i've since turned forced filesystem checks "sudo tune2fs -c 500 /dev/sda1" every 500th boot, appears still doing forced check every single boot, , thing makes me think that, when-ever system forced file-system check, ram loaded program cache, when booted. when typed "free" see 6.5 gigs free, after forced system file check, say, 6 gigs in use program cache.
worked fine until update 3 or 4 weeks ago... 10 minutes of black screen, every single boot.
thanks!
