combining photos

hi.  have photograph want move 1 person , photo.

in other photo, want remove 1 person completly , add other person other photo.  how can this?  thank you.

you can cover object or in case unwanted person clone stamp or covering person of background.

removal clone

i recommend using layers if elect use clone tool.

1. check box says either "use layers" or "sample layers" in options bar when clone tool selected.
2. create new layer.
3. clone tool settings normal mode; 100% opacity; aligned checked.
4. alt click sample background material clone on unwanted person. (note: clone on blank layer can erase if needed.)

removal patch background material.

if decide copy background material on unwanted person, grab 1 of selection tools , select area of background fill unwanted person's space. i'd recommend selecting person's space rectangular marquee tool.

1. grab rectangular marquee tool.
2. marquee tool still selected, press , hold in shift key , move marquee area use background fill.
3. release shift key when happy marquee's location.
4. press, ctrl + j if on pc or cmd + j if on mac. lift selected area onto it's own layer.
5. grab move tool.
6. press shift key , move fill material on unwanted person.

we did shift key bit lined original image...not necessary can helpful.

7. blend out edges of rectangular fill.

one way use soft eraser @ low opacity , remove edges. way mask using patch in clipping mask/clipping group...same thing different term.

this site has tutorial on clipping masks:

http://www.photokaboom.com/photography/learn/photoshop_elements/layers/layer_groups_clippi ng_masks/1_layer_groups_clipping_masks.htm

1. move person, select person 1 of selection tools.

1a. save selection @ point select<save selection. name it. might need refine it.

2. might want use refine selection , refine selection @ point. i'm not sure if it's same photoshop's can't give specifics. if don't have refine selection in version of elements, might want apply little feather maybe .9 start...really depends on image , it's resolution.

3. once selected whatever method choose, right click layer in layers palette says layer name.

4.select "duplicate layer" menu. you'll dialog asks want destination.oul
5.select image want move layer. (this assumes have other image open.). put layer in new image.

note: layer take on resolution of layer moving to...so if don't match shrink or expand accordingly.

optional: blend edges blur tool

6. if have sharp edges, might consider running blur tool on edges. recommend adding new layer on image on. blur tool selected, check box says "use layers" or "sample layers. change layer's blend mode darken. run blur tool on edges of image. keep in mind can use opacity slider lessen darken effect. (using blur tool way conceal edges , blend in better original image.

optional: match lighting

7. might need adjust lighting on new person. try using render<lighting effects adjust lighting. you'll need eyeball it.  here's shortcut might helpful: shift + alt + f recall filter dialog. (if on mac, shift + opt + f).

optional: color correction

7a. might need use variations command match new person image. think that's located @ image<adjustment<variations.

optional: add color cast

7b. alternately, maybe use blur<average color caste of image. copy original image apply blur<average. change averaged layer's blend mode color blend mode; clip new person...see tutorial on clipping masks linked earlier. (you'll need drop opacity of averaged layer somewhere below 49%.)
